The War On Terror

This Page is dedicated to those brave young warriors, men and women, who today are protecting our freedom and our way of life in a war like this country has never faced before.  But it does compare in the impact it will have if we lose this war to these fanatical terrorists, as if we would have lost WW2 in the effect it will have on our freedoms and our way of life.

In the midst of one of the greatest challenges we have ever faced, we in the Western World have developed a serious communications problem. In this era of hyper-sensitivity and political-correctness, words no longer have meaning. Those who are good are too often portrayed as evil; indefensibly wicked acts are made less so by the way they are described. Words like “hero” and “hatred” have lost definition. In the midst of a struggle for survival, the inability to discern attackers from allies, friends from foes, and heroes from cowards is potentially catastrophic.

Nine days after the 9/11 attack that murdered nearly 3,000 innocent men, women and children on American soil, President Bush said “Our war on terror begins with al Qaeda, but it does not end there…Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists, and every government that supports them…Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen…The only way to defeat terrorism as a threat to our way of life is to stop it, eliminate it, and destroy it where it grows.”

On Memorial Day I’m going to get down on my knees to thank God for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving our nation and pray for those who do so today. And I’m going to slip in another prayer – that those who report “the news” here at home will yet report on some of the successes that these brave young Americans have wrought with their blood, sweat and tears. Perhaps you’ll join me.

This is a generation of the best and the bravest young American soldiers this country has ever had on any battlefield in the history of this country and we as Americans need to support them in their mission, because their mission is to preserve our very existence on this planet. Our enemy has vowed to kill us all and to take away every freedom this country has....we must not and cannot ever let this happen. Remember their sacrifice, Remember them. They need to know you remember and love them.

Tribute To Those Who Serve Today

Mike Mudry "This is one from 2007 that I did. Its amazing how many of our troops volunteer for a second and third tour in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you don't know why, you really need to ask one that you know. You will be amazed at what never makes the 6 o'clock news."

Mike Mudry who is an Alumni of my East Aurora High, graduating class of 1967, a Vietnam veteran,  a friend, and a true patriot, made the above video, and gave me permission to use it.

Thank you, Mike!

Heroes

He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm howitzer. He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk.

He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark.. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must. He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional. He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march.

Heroes

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient. He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry. He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job. He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime.

Heroes

He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed. He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

heroes

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding. Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood. And we have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so. As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot.. A short lull, a little shade and a picture of loved ones in their helmets.......

Heroes

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."

Oliver North, About our troops

Take time to remember those in the armed forces on active duty, the reservists, or service members who have fallen in the line of duty. Think of the fearless men and women who put on a uniform every day to make freedom possible--because there are no freedoms, without those willing to fight for them.

An open message to the self righteous war protesters

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions, and blood of better men than himself.

The ACLU crusade against religion

The ACLU crusade against religion is a crusade against the core religious and moral values that have essentially been the software of the success of American freedom.

The smokescreen under which this operation takes place is an illusion that for every religious symbol purged, we produce a more neutral and fair country.

This is anything but true. Nature abhors a vacuum, and the purge of one value amounts to its replacement with another. In this case, traditional values of right, wrong and personal responsibility are displaced by relativism, materialism and, ultimately, the product of both of these, nihilism.

WAKE UP AMERICA!

ONE NATION UNDER GOD

"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected, in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity."

~ John Quincy Adams ~
